About Deity…

Deity Brinson is an actor, dancer, and artist based in Charlotte who believes in the power of the arts as a tool for connection, expression, and understanding. She views theatre not only as entertainment, but as a space where stories can foster empathy, challenge perspectives, and bridge gaps between people and communities. While every story may not be her own, it belongs to someone, and deserves to be told with truthfulness, dignity, and respect.

Deity has performed across a variety of disciplines including straight plays, musicals, dance concerts, and community-based productions throughout the Charlotte metro area. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Theatre and a concentration in Performance. She is a current member of the Headliners Dance Team and is active as an actor in several local productions. In addition to performing, she works in arts administration and is passionate about creating accessible, community-centered artistic spaces that support both artists and audiences alike.

Beyond the stage, Deity also explores movement through aerial arts and has growing interests in directing, producing, and arts leadership. She is currently developing a cultural and social organization centered on connecting and uplifting Black theatre artists in Charlotte while building intentional space for Black artistry to remain visible, supported, and celebrated within the broader performing arts community.
